Bubby was a very sensitive person and took everything very much to heart. We all know when there were tragedies reported in the newspaper she would cry about them and talk about them over and over. On the positive side though, when she heard about joyous things she was extremely emotionally happy. She had a real genuine joy for people in their time their simcha. This was especially emphasized when people had more than what she had, or when someone had an opportunity that she never had. I spent a few years in Bubby & Zaidy‘s house when the first of her grandchildren were getting engaged and married. The Simcha she had from the family growing was incredible.
