Stories & Memories of Mrs Leah Miriam Heidingsfeld

My teacher , My friend

I came into community not knowing anyone. I was a virtually a stranger converting to Judaism. I felt very shy and ackward . Someone told Leah Miriam about me and one day at Simchas Torah function she approached with a great smile and welcomed me and made me feel like we had known each other for ages. From then on she took me under her wing and invited me to Shabbos dinners, lunches etc. Every Yom Tov I lived at their place . They always had many guests staying at their place and nothing was too much trouble for Leah Miriam. She welcomed everybody. She taught me SO much. We made challah together and she showed me how to separate challah and explained why we do it. I never heard any loshon hara come out of Leah Miriam’s lips. She was a wonderful lady who only saw the best in everybody and was always positive . She was always on the go doing mitzvot and for every shiur we attended at her place she made a chocolate cake and was very welcoming at all times. She became a wonderful friend that I looked up to.She and her family did SO much for me and were great influence in my life. I will always remember Leah Miriam as one of the best people I had ever met . I will surely miss her . I look forward to seeing her again when Moshiach comes. Meanwhile I have great memories of her to treasure.
