Stories & Memories of Mrs Leah Miriam Heidingsfeld

By: Anonymous June 8

Warmth she showed to everyone,

Dear Shimmy,

I am truly sorry to hear of the loss of your dear mother o'h.

I have strong memories of going on holidays with you and the family. As I recall one place was called "The Levels" at Golspie. We picked apricots, slept by - and then swam in a clear creek and even spent shabbos there. Your mother was front and centre then, as I recall your father had been overseas at the time, and only joined later. Your mother also always made me feel included and treated us with a gentle and warm demeanour.

There were other occasions, far too many to elaborate on in detail here where I recall the love and warmth that she showed to not only her children, but to others. She did so in a very genuine and meaningful way. For this I am grateful and will remember her always in a positive way.

It would be remiss to not mention the chessed of your dear father (tzu langer yahren) and your mother who took Avremi and I in when we were in Melbourne. And especially yourself who selflessly gave over of your own personal space. This, amongst many other things highlight the exemplary behaviour and kindness that you have shown together with your upbringing of incredible hachnosas orchim.

I am honoured and blessed to have lived with in your home with your mother and the family.

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved ones at this time.

הַמָּקוֹם יְנַחֵם אֶתְכֶם בְּתוֹךְ שְׁאָר אֲבֵלֵי צִיּוֹן וִירוּשָׁלַיִם

May we be zoiche to greet Moshiach, together with all of our loved ones united again.
