I know someone who couldn't afford to send their child to yeshiva last year, and the yeshiva informed the parents that they could not reduce the tuition any further. Desperate for help, the parent called Rabbi Wagner to ask for assistance. It was only midway through the conversation that they realized Rabbi Wagner was in the hospital at the time.
Feeling apologetic, the parent expressed their concern, but Rabbi Wagner reassured them, saying, "Chas V'shalom, don't worry about it. I'll call up the Hanhala and take care of it for you." Despite his own struggles, Rabbi Wagner's selflessness and dedication to his students never wavered.
