Menachem Mendel ben Dovid Okunov OBM
Reb Mendel dedicated his life to the Rebbe's mission, teaching Torah to his many students from the former Soviet Union in a meaningful yet fun way. For over 4 decades he ran the F.R.E.E. division at ULY Ocean Parkway, directed Camp F.R.E.E. - Gan Israel and inspired all whom he encountered with his love and kindness. Reb Mendel personified what it means to be a Jew and inspired thousands of his students to be proud of their Jewish heritage. His family is determined to carry on his great legacy.
