I can't say that I was ever extremely close the Shneur, and I don't have any personal stories to share. I think I first met him in Parksville in 1994. We are around the same age and share many common friends. We likely spent a year in the same Yeshiva as well. We had a casual relationship and we would always greet each other whenever I was in town. All I can say is that from my impressions of him.. as kid, in Yeshiva then later when I would see him at the Shul on Crown street was the most Chasidisher and Aydele Yungerman! And in all honesty, I knew hat he was involved in a big company but I didn't know how big and I never viewed him as a Gvir, rather as a quiet Chasidisher Yungerman.
