I first met Yisroel in 2010. I was walking down the road and saw the mitzvah tank and had an urge to flag it down. I hadn’t put tefillin on for many many years. Over the following 10 years he became a good friend - he taught me a lot about myself, Judaism and Chabad. He told me to ask the Rebbe when I really needed something and when I did it worked! He never complained even though it was clear that things were not always easy for him. He sent messages of inspiration each day that made me stop and think. He was a good friend who I will never forget and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
